Generally speaking, guitars can be broadly categorized into “Vintage” and “Modern” styles.

Those good old vintage guitars still produce sounds that captivate us, and it’s no wonder that renowned artists are desperate to get their hands on them.

Modern guitars offer ample power to withstand even the heaviest music scenes, along with sturdy construction and distinctive looks…

Furthermore, they relentlessly pursue the comfortable playability that live performers demand, and a wide variety of ambitious new models—destined to become new classics—continue to be released.

If pressed to choose, Vanzandt guitars could be classified as “Vintage” style; however, they boast such overwhelming craftsmanship that it would be a shame to simply label them as “Vintage-style guitars.”

The production team’s insatiable obsession with “sound.” They pour their meticulous attention into every detail to achieve nuances and a response that rival vintage instruments—even in brand-new models.

In a sense, these are “Neo Vintage” guitars. Here lies their answer to the question of what an “electric guitar” should be.

The model we’ve just received is our custom-ordered TLV-Thinline!

This model isn’t currently listed on our website, and while instruments with slightly different specs are occasionally produced, it remains an extremely rare model.

While Vanzandt typically offers the TLV-Thinline with a mahogany body as standard, this particular model features an ash body.

Despite the scarcity of high-quality ash in recent years, they’ve sourced exceptional wood that resulted in an exceptionally lightweight instrument—even with its semi-hollow construction.

The main-conductor neck, crafted from hard maple, is exceptionally sturdy and resistant to warping thanks to unique rod installation techniques.

Not only is it resistant to warping and built to last for years of enjoyment, but it also prevents the loss of string vibration, resulting in rich harmonics and sustain.

This delivers the best possible sound quality.

It features a one-piece maple neck—not a laminated maple neck—where the neck and fingerboard are formed as a single unit.

By eliminating the need to glue the fingerboard, vibration efficiency is improved, maximizing the exceptional resonance unique to Vanzandt.

The fingerboard radius is set to 210R—slightly flatter than vintage specifications—which eliminates sound drop-off during bending and enables smooth playing.

The nitrocellulose lacquer finish is so thin that even the slightest impact can cause a scratch. It also possesses the same texture as a vintage guitar.

Because of its ultra-thin nature, it maximizes the wood’s natural resonance, and its overwhelming response—especially in clean to driven tones—is truly unmatched.

The neck features the same lacquer finish, providing a smooth, natural feel as if you were touching the wood directly.

We guarantee a fast and stress-free playing experience.

As for the all-important sound, you’ll experience an overwhelming and exquisite tone the moment you strum a single chord.

We’ve equipped this guitar with the Dallas Chopper—a somewhat rare model among Vanzandt’s 100% handmade, hand-wired pickups.

While no standard-spec models come equipped with this pickup, the truth is that instruments featuring it deliver exceptionally high-quality sound!

It retains the characteristic Vanzandt richness while offering excellent balance and superb separation, making it versatile enough for a wide range of genres.

With a distinct Texas flair, it delivers an exquisite presence and pleasant high-mid range for any style of playing—whether single notes, cutting, or arpeggios.

The fact that it’s available exclusively in Japan is another clever touch.

No compromises were made on the aesthetics either; the glossy lacquer finish—clearly very thin—creates a truly outstanding atmosphere.

This model is finished simply in black, and it pairs perfectly with the mint-colored pickguard, of course.

While it isn’t a rare color, the result is a look that exudes a sense of reliability.

Please be sure to try out a Vanzandt guitar—the pinnacle of Japanese-made guitars.

We look forward to your inquiries.
