Here’s the deal on this TriplePlay - I don’t have the piece that allows you to permanently attach the pickup to your guitar with screws, because who the hell would do that? I don’t have the different size shims that go under the pickup either, because they’re useless - they either make the pickup too high so it touches the strings, or too low so it doesn’t track well. Fishman should've included a bigger variety of shims.

The best solution is a hardware store - just about anything will work. Cardboard, rubber washers, weatherstripping tape, felt or cork sheet, balsa wood strips - anything to raise the pickup to the right height, which is as close to the strings as possible without touching them. Best to use a mild glue like Elmers, with small shims under each end of the pickup - then it won’t leave a big mark on your pickguard if you take the pickup off. Fishman didn’t think of that either - their non-screws option was a peel & stick holder for the pickup with horrible glue which requires paint thinner to get it off the pickguard.

This system tracks really well! Jennifer Batten left Roland to become a major TriplePlay endorser, so that’s saying something.

It's not as useful for entering notes into a DAW - it tends to add soft ghost notes which are inaudible, but show up on the staff. Entering notes with a midi keyboard is way more accurate.
