Altec 604-8K (Great Plains Audio 604-8H-II)
GPA once got their hands on every 604-8K they could find, and remagnetized and reconed them to restore them to top spec. Why they called them an -8H II, is beyond us.
So, here is a restored vintage Altec 604-8K by Great Plains.
(Factually, the vintage -8H uses an alnico magnet and is much ‘deeper’, and also does not use the Mantaray horn. The shorter throw and better bass of the ferrite bass driver is what makes this 8K ferrite style the top choice for studio drivers. So, yes, this is an 8K! This odd fact is in the GPA user groups online.)
This was part of a pair I acquired which one was sadly lost in shipping by FedEx. This mates great with any existing 604-8K speaker to make a pair.
Comes in original double nested shipping box, and will ship UPS just because.
