1992 Epiphone Imperial Series Howard Roberts HR-1 – Cherry
A rare Japanese-made Epiphone Imperial Series Howard Roberts HR-1, finished in Cherry.
This example has serial number E920011 and was manufactured in Japan to the original Howard Roberts specifications. The Imperial Series was a higher-end Epiphone range produced in Japan in the early 1990s, and these Japanese HR-1 models are considerably less common than the later Korean versions.
The guitar features the distinctive oval soundhole, single floating mini-humbucker, gold hardware, ornate headstock vine inlay, bound body and neck, rosewood fingerboard with decorative block inlays, and 1-volume / 1-tone controls. The design gives it a warm, resonant jazz tone both acoustically and amplified.
The guitar is in very good overall condition for its age, with normal cosmetic wear and age-related tarnishing to the gold hardware visible in the photographs. Please study all photographs carefully for exact condition.
