Rare Vintage 1950s Tanabe Tokyo Long Cornet – Polished Bare Brass – Plays Great!

Up for sale is an incredibly rare piece of Japanese brasswind history: a vintage Tanabe Band Instrument Co. long cornet, manufactured in Tokyo, Japan, circa 1948–1952.Tanabe was a pioneering domestic builder founded in 1897 that permanently ceased production in 1954, making surviving, playable examples exceptionally difficult to find today. This horn features the stunning, sharp "Greatest Name in the World" bell engraving alongside the authentic interlocking "TBC" monogram stamp and serial number 43417 on the second valve casing.Condition & Playability:

• Finish: Stripped to a gorgeous bare brass look and freshly polished. It has a beautiful, clean vintage aesthetic.
• Valves & Slides: The valves are in great shape with good compression, smooth action, and excellent response.
• Body: Overall very solid structure. There are only a couple of minor, shallow cosmetic dings consistent with a 75-year-old horn, none of which affect playability or sound production.
