OME Juniper Openback Banjo: Walnut with a Rolled Brass Tone Ring, Built to Order
The OME Juniper is a 5-string openback banjo in walnut, with a 12 inch walnut rim topped by a rolled brass tone ring, a walnut neck with abalone inlay, and an S-curve scoop for clawhammer. It sits at the top of OME's standard openback line. Available from Banjo Warehouse, an OME dealer in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Built to order. OME builds each Juniper after it is ordered, in its shop in Titusville, Florida. When it arrives here, our banjo tech Tara gives it a full professional setup before it ships to you. Call Geoff at (404) 218-8580 for the current build time.
Why the Juniper?
The Juniper is the one 5-string openback in OME's standard line with a metal tone ring. A rolled brass ring on a walnut rim adds clarity and projection to the warm sound of the Remo Renaissance head, so the Juniper carries better in a jam than a plain wood rim while still sounding like an openback. The walnut neck and the Jasmine pattern abalone inlay make it the dressiest of the group.

What does built to order mean?
OME does not build Junipers ahead for stock. Your banjo is built after you order it, then comes to our Yellow Springs shop, where Tara sets it up before it ships to you. Call Geoff for the current build time.
What is the difference between the Juniper and the Jubilee?
Both are 12 inch OME openbacks with a clawhammer scoop, Rickard Cyclone tuners and a Renaissance head. The Jubilee is maple with a plain wood tone rim. The Juniper is walnut and adds a rolled brass tone ring, which gives it more clarity and projection.
Is the OME Juniper made in the USA?
Yes. OME builds the Juniper in Titusville, Florida. OME was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1960 and is now part of Gold Tone Music Group.
