Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Twin Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. One of the very first Silverface Twins from late in the year, this 1967 chassis has been housed in a mid-1970s Twin Reverb cabinet. Boasting the same AB763 circuit and componentry typically found in its Black Panel predecessors, this Twin Reverb has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar.

This Twin delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, a wide-ranging and responsive EQ, and present, sparkling Fender top end. When it comes to the quintessential Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and the balanced, authoritative response of a four 6L6 driven tube amp, it's hard to beat the Twin. The tube-driven Reverb effect has incredible depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with a wide range of speeds. It's as iconic a design as Leo Fender ever created, also very well-suited to amplifying pedal steel or electric piano in the vein of a Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes.

The circuit retains all of the original Schumacher-made transformers, with date codes spanning the 25th, 34th, and 35th weeks of ‘67. The original CTS and Stackpole pots have visible date codes from the late weeks of '66 and ‘67, and the preamp is virtually untouched, retaining all of the blue molded Ajax capacitors, a central part of the sweet, musical sound of Fender’s Black Panel circuits. A new bias cap has been installed, along with new caps in the power supply. The reverb tank is a modern Accutronics equivalent and a three-prong power cable has been added. The tube complement includes a modern quartet of Tung-Sol 6L6GC power tubes, with a combination of vintage and modern valves in the preamp.

The speakers are a vintage pair of vintage Oxford 12T6s, one of which has been professionally reconed. Both feature blue Fender foil labels on the magnets with date stickers translating to the 32nd week of ‘72. The tube chart is clean and intact inside the cabinet, taped over to preserve it.

The cabinet features original black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with orange stripe. The polished aluminum faceplate retains its turquoise text and full complement of witch hat knobs, and all of the original hardware is present, including the handle caps, chassis straps, corners, raised Fender logo, and sphinx glides (feet).
