If you know, you know. If you're not sure, I got you:

The Ghost Echo is a spring-reverb-emulation pedal. This is a V1 – one of the originals, made roughly 2011–2017. The V1 is slightly larger than the V2 and V3. It's a single-footswitch, three-knob analogue/digital hybrid circuit designed to emulate vintage spring reverb tanks and tape-echo-style ambience. Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead) and Yannis Philippakis (Foals) are big fans of the Ghost Echo.

Power: 9-Volt DC adapter required (not included).

Controls:

• Attack – sets pre-delay, from tight rockabilly slapback up to long, smeared "ectoplasmic" swells
• Dwell – sets decay length/thickness, and can be pushed to self-oscillation at max
• Depth – wet/dry mix (we're not talking about cement)

If you want more character than something like a Boss RV this is for you. Boss pedals are perfectly decent, of course.

Sound tips:

• Turn down the Attack and keep the Dwell short for a tight, staccato surf and rockabilly slapback that will remind you of a proper vintage spring tank.
• Push the Dwell toward the top and you're into self-oscillating territory, where the pedal essentially starts feeding back on itself into a wall of swelling noise. Hello Doom and Drone.
• If garage, psych, and lo-fi indie are your thing, it'll give you degraded "haunted tape" vibes – Attack: low-to-mid, around 3–5; Dwell: mid-high, around 6–7; Depth: high, 8–9.

NOTE: There's a blemish on the underside (oh my!). Some paint stuck to the velcro tape that was holding it in place on an effects board. Other than that, it's in fantastic condition.

There's a guy on eBay listing these at over £200.
