In 1996, Martin released the ultimate anniversary model, the "D-45 Deluxe Commemorative," in a strictly limited worldwide edition of only 91 instruments, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of founder Christian Frederick Martin.

Based on the D-45, the pinnacle of the acoustic guitar world, this instrument brings together Martin's finest technology and the most premium materials available.

The top uses carefully selected premium-grade Sitka spruce, while the sides and back are crafted from the finest Brazilian rosewood, a material that is now extremely difficult to source.

What makes this instrument even more special is its breathtaking, lavish ornamentation. From the abalone vertical logo shining on the headstock, to the headstock surround, fingerboard edges, neck heel, rosette, and body trim, vivid abalone inlay is used generously throughout. The fingerboard features classic snowflake inlays, and at the end of the fingerboard, the signature inlay of founder C.F. Martin Sr. is quietly and proudly engraved.

Fully original, one-owner instrument. No cracks or crack repairs. Only a few minor dings near the bridge side and light scuffs visible when held up to the light; even the pickguard is nearly free of wear, an excellent-condition example.
