Crate GX-130C 130w head w/matching GS-412SS 200w 4x12 cabinet, 1994 black ozite halfstack, Made in USA *OSDM HOLY GRAIL*

For sale is my rare and coveted GX-130C-H with matching GS-412SS cabinet. If you’re looking at this, you probably know what this is. Refined and thick high gain solid state channel based on the VH-140C, and a clean channel similar to a Roland JC, both with ethereal true stereo chorus. The cabinet is loaded with Celestion G12S-50 speakers that sound to me like a cross between G12T-75’s and Greenbacks, perfectly matched to the GX-130C’s sonic signature. The cabinet is also capable of stereo operation in 8 ohms, or mono operation in 4 or 16 ohms, a capability I wish more modern cabinets had.

The head has been taken apart and cleaned, pots sprayed with Deoxit, a few internals reflowed, and the black ozite carpet shampooed and steam cleaned. The same went for the ozite on the cabinet (see pictures). Plastic parts like corner protectors and knobs were cleaned and treated with Mother’s rubber, vinyl, and plastic protectant. A new MOD reverb tank has also been installed.

The restoration of this special amp & cabinet was a labor of love with plans to keep, but plans change. The price reflects the restoration, condition, history, and out of production rarity for an amazing package made in the USA that is getting harder and harder to find. Many new USA/UK amp heads with similar wattage start around $1k, and many don’t even have analog reverb or stereo effects. This amp & cabinet package is special for a reason.
