Beautiful 2023 Fender Custom Shop 1952 Telecaster Reissue in Blonde with an NOS finish.

This is a particularly interesting ’52 Tele because of its lighter caramel-colored neck finish and unusual factory-style electronics configuration. The wiring is similar to early Nocaster wiring and gives the guitar some tonal options you don't normally find on a modern Telecaster.

The three-way switch operates as follows:

• Position 1 — Bridge pickup
• Position 2 — Neck pickup, with the tone control functioning as a blend control that allows you to progressively add the bridge pickup
• Position 3 — Neck pickup with the darker, more subdued vintage-style voicing

The blend control in Position 2 is especially useful because it allows you to dial in exactly how much bridge pickup you want rather than being limited to a fixed neck/bridge combination.

Tonally, I would describe this guitar as having “middle-plus” resonance. It is well balanced, clean and articulate, projects very well, and has enough body through the mids without becoming overly thick. Just a really solid all-around Telecaster.

This guitar has been played and gigged, so despite originally being an NOS instrument, it now has some honest dents, dings and playing wear. I think the wear actually suits the guitar well, but I want to be very clear about the condition and have tried to show it accurately in the photographs.

At one point I installed a Kluson bridge on the guitar. The original Fender bridge has since been reinstalled, but the Kluson left some marks in the finish around/under the bridge area. Most of these live behind the perimeter of the original bridge and are difficult to see in photographs, but they are there and I want the next owner to be aware of them.

The guitar is otherwise back in its original configuration.

It has been cleaned and professionally set up with a fresh set of Elixir 10–46 strings and is ready to play.

I'm simply reducing a fairly large guitar collection and letting go of some excellent instruments that aren't getting enough playing time.
