2013 Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass V (5-String) Sunburst + Premium RockBag Gig Bag (Freeport Band Rescue!)
Up for sale is a beautiful, rare 2013 Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass V (5-String Model) in a classic 3-Tone Sunburst finish. Crafted at the Cor-Tek factory in Indonesia, this 5-string variant is discontinued and highly sought after for its exceptional build quality and versatile active electronics.
Ergonomic offset waist body, a slim maple neck, a smooth rosewood fretboard, and a single-coil bridge pickup paired with a split single-coil middle pickup. The 9V active bass-boost circuit compartment on the back is fully intact.
Includes a premium, heavily padded RockBag by Warwick electric bass gig bag featuring heavy-duty neck support straps and thick exterior accessory pockets. In average condition, typical wear and tear.
🎸 The Backstory (Saved from Demolition):
Like the other instruments I am currently listing, this 5-string bass setup was rescued directly from the historic Freeport, IL building where legendary 1960s garage rock band The Nomadds rehearsed. The building was scheduled for demolition, leaving behind a multi-era time capsule of gear, amps, and local state-line music history. My friend and I were personally able to save just 5 guitars from the structure right before the building was torn down. This instrument is a literal piece of that local rock-and-roll timeline! (The Nomadds are famous for their ultra-rare 1965 self-titled LP recorded at Radex Studios which regularly sells for hundreds of dollars to collectors.) (More on the history of this local rehearsal space at the end.)
Condition Notes:
The bass is structurally and cosmetically in very clean shape. It has been sitting safely stored inside its heavy padded bag. The finish is glossy, the neck is straight, and the chrome hardware is shiny with no corrosion. Naturally, it might need a fresh set of 5-string bass strings and a standard tune-up setup. Electronics are original and sold as-is. Includes a wonderful piece of local history! Cash or venmo only for local pickup.

The History
"While The Nomadds are the historic legends of that rehearsal space, the space they used wasn't just left empty for 50 years. It remained a hidden hub for the local music scene right up until its final days.
The building served as a multi-generational rehearsal sanctuary, home to several other bands more recently:
- The Nomadds Reunion & Legacy Projects: Following their legendary 2010 reunion concert at the Freeport Masonic Temple, members of the band and close local musical associates utilized the space for jam sessions, legacy recording projects, and archiving. This explains why a 2010 Squier Telecaster and a 1996 Alvarez Yairi were sitting alongside 1960s gear.
- Local Hard Rock and Metal Acts: Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, the space was quietly rented out to several heavier, modern regional rock, punk, and metal outfits from the Northwestern Illinois/Stateline area who needed a loud, thick-walled room where they wouldn't get noise complaints.
- Independent Freeport Garage Projects: The building hosted various casual cover bands, blues jams, and independent garage-rock musicians who treated the spot as a sacred, historic "rite of passage" rehearsal room because of its Radex Studio ties and Nomadds history.
When the city fast-tracked the downtown demolition due to structural safety concerns, it literally trapped a multi-era time capsule—leaving 1960s sheet music right alongside 1990s and 2010s gig gear."
