Squier Stratocaster 1989 MIK Electric Guitar

This used 1989 Squier Stratocaster Made in Korea (MIK) is a highly discussed vintage instrument representing a transitional era for Fender. In the late 1980s, Fender shifted much of its Squier production from Japan to Korean factories like Samick and Young Chang to manage production costs. Because different factories used vastly different materials, these guitars vary heavily in construction and collectable.

• The "E10" and "E7" Series (Young Chang Factory): These are highly sought after by players. They typically feature full-thickness solid wood bodies, Fender-stamped bridge saddles, and high-quality Gotoh tuning machines. Many components were leftover Japanese parts shipped to Korea for assembly.
• The "E9" and "S9" Series (Samick Factory): While still sporting excellent, thin, and highly playable maple necks, these models usually feature laminated plywood bodies. They also typically shipped with cheaper "trapezoid" or covered Jin Ho tuners, and ceramic single-coil pickups.

This Guitar May Have some light rust, dents, scratches, fingerprints, or fret ware.
