The 105Q is the original full-size Cry Baby Bass Wah, introduced by Dunlop in 1999 as its first wah designed from the ground up specifically for bass. Rather than sweeping the entire signal, it applies the wah principally to the mids/highs while preserving the fundamental low end. Dunlop says the circuit was inspired by the sound of a 1970s envelope filter.
180 Hz–1.8 kHz filter-center sweep, variable Q, adjustable boost of up to +20 dB, buffered bypass, and Dunlop's automatic return/auto-off system—take your foot off the treadle and the effect returns to bypass. It operates from a 9V battery or 9V DC supply.
Dunlop specifically notes that the 105Q developed a following among guitarists, particularly players wanting a deeper/thicker wah response or using lower tunings.
