Completely rebuilt by Gartone Amps, using the existing head cab, chassis, mains transformer and choke. All the boards, including filter and bias, are new. All electrical components, caps, resisters, pots, jacks, valve bases etc are new. All are of the highest quality, as used in Gartone builds. Upgraded output transformer to a larger Showman unit, therefore when running just the pair of output valves, the optimum load for the amp is now 8 ohms to match the cab, but it's happy at 4 or 16, because Fenders are. The Bass channel circuit is based on the mid 60's schematics, rather than the 70's ones, and the Normal channel has a more tweed flavour. In both channels, the slider switches operate as a mid boost, and not as bright switches. It has a full compliment of NOS valves, including RCA and Mullard in the pre-amp. The output valves are the best money can buy, matched JAN Philips 7581As, which have the highest headroom of any 6L6 type ever produced.
The cab is also slightly modified, it has new internal wiring, it has good quality 75mm rubber castors, bolted through with internal T-nuts for extra reliability, the two front ones are locking. The speaker is a reconed orange framed JBL D140F, and is perfect and sounds glorious with this amp.
The head and cab have custom made thick padded covers from Hotcovers.
It's big, and it's heavy, but it is beautiful and it sounds fabulous.
