Marshall DSL5C 5-Watt Valve Combo – Used

Here we have a Marshall DSL5C, a compact 5-watt all-valve combo that delivers considerably more noise than its rather innocent-looking size would suggest.

It’s used, obviously. If you’re looking for something that has spent its entire life sitting untouched in a climate-controlled museum, this probably isn’t it. It has been played, enjoyed and generally subjected to the sort of treatment a guitar amplifier can reasonably expect. But overall, it’s in good used condition and works as it should.

The DSL5C gives you that familiar Marshall thing – from cleaner tones through to proper crunchy British rock sounds, with enough gain on tap to upset the neighbours without necessarily requiring a visit from the council.

It features 5 watts of valve-powered Marshall goodness, a Celestion Ten-30 speaker, two channels, gain and volume controls, 3-band EQ, reverb, and a power reduction option for when you’d like to keep friendly relations with everyone else in the house.

There’s also an effects loop, headphone/emulated output and an external speaker connection, making it surprisingly versatile for such a small combo.

Cosmetically, expect some minor signs of previous ownership. Nothing dramatic – just the usual little marks and evidence that this amplifier has had a life rather than being raised in a cupboard. Please study the photos carefully, as they form part of the description.

It’s ideal for home use, recording, rehearsing or simply having something suitably Marshall sitting next to your guitar.

In short: small, loud, valve-powered and British. What’s not to like?

Sold as a used item, with no promises of world domination included. Although, frankly, it’s worth a try.
