Akai Professional Deep Impact SB1 Bass Synthesizer

Rare and discontinued Akai Deep Impact SB1 bass synthesizer from the early 2000s, including its original factory box with matching serial number.

The serial number on the pedal matches the factory serial-number label on the original box, as shown in the photos.

FUNCTION / TESTING

I personally tested the pedal with a bass. I cycled through all nine factory presets and tested both footswitches, input/output and displays/LEDs. Everything tested operated properly.

The Deep Impact features nine built-in synth presets/internal memories and adjustable parameters including Attack, Decay, Envelope Depth, Dynamics, Cutoff, Resonance, Balance and Level, along with Note On/Off Level controls and true bypass.

CONDITION

The pedal is in Very Good cosmetic condition, particularly considering its age. The face, graphics, knobs, displays and footswitches present very well. There are some small finish chips, scratches and signs of normal use around the edges and sides of the enclosure. I've photographed these areas closely so the cosmetic condition can be evaluated clearly.

The original factory box shows considerably more normal age and storage wear, including edge and corner wear, but remains intact with its original graphics, labels and matching serial number.

POWER SUPPLY NOTE

The included Godlyke Power-All PA-9 is a compatible aftermarket power supply and is not the original Akai MP-9 adapter. The original box identifies the factory-supplied adapter as the Akai MP-9. The included Godlyke adapter was used while testing the pedal.

This is a very clean and well-documented example of a sought-after vintage bass synth, made especially appealing by its original matching-serial factory box.
