A used Gibson Custom Shop '59 Reissue with a beautifully figured maple top has arrived!
Built in 2000, this guitar features a maple top with a distinct flame pattern that attests to the high quality of the wood used at the time, paired with a mahogany back, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard. It is equipped with two '57 Classic' pickups.
There are numerous color variations on the mahogany parts, and the entire body and neck have been over-lacquered.
As expected for its age, there are scratches and dents, as well as buckle marks.
The tuning pegs and bridge are Gibson-brand but have been replaced with newer ones.
There are signs that different tuners were previously installed, leaving marks on the headstock top.
The strap pins have been replaced with Schaller locking pins, and the original strap hardware is included.
A high-pass capacitor had been retrofitted to the volume pot, so it was removed and the soldering was repaired.
Since this instrument dates from a time when certificates of authenticity were not included with new instruments, no certificate is provided; additionally, there is peeling on the Tolex of the included case.
