2014 Gibson SG Futura 120th Anniversary – Bullion Gold Fade – P-90H / BurstBucker 3 – Grovers – OHSC
Very cool and unusual 2014 Gibson USA SG Futura in Bullion Gold Fade, produced for Gibson's 120th Anniversary.
The Futura was one of Gibson's more interesting SG variations, combining the traditional SG platform with a 24-fret neck, P-90H Sidewinder neck pickup, BurstBucker 3 bridge pickup, coil splitting and a factory +15 dB active boost.
The original Min-ETune robotic tuning system—the part of these guitars that hasn't exactly aged gracefully—has been removed and replaced with a vintage set of Grover tuners, making this a much more conventional and reliable guitar to live with.
Otherwise, the guitar is stock and includes a Gibson hardshell case.

The P-90H/BurstBucker combination gives this guitar considerably more tonal range than a conventional SG. The Sidewinder provides the character of a P-90 while remaining hum-canceling, while the hotter BurstBucker 3 handles the traditional humbucker territory. The coil-splitting and onboard boost add even more options. These were all factory features of the Futura.
As with any guitar shipped between different climates, minor setup adjustment may be desired after arrival according to the buyer's playing preference.
