Selling my Mesa Boogie California Tweed 6V6 4:40 combo. First owner.

What makes this amp special

The California Tweed is Mesa's tribute to the tweed era of the 1950s, handbuilt in Petaluma, California. Four 6V6 power tubes, five 12AX7s and one 12AT7 in the preamp. The Multi-Watt rotary switch gives you 2, 10, 20, 30 or 40 watts — same character from the living room to the stage, just at a different volume. It comes with a Jensen Blackbird Alnico 40 speaker, a genuine long-tank tube spring reverb and a tube-buffered series FX loop.

One channel, two inputs, Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, Presence, Reverb, Master. No gimmicks, and everything that is there is first rate.

Condition: flawless

The amp lived in a rehearsal room and was hardly ever transported — and when it was, always in its flight case. No scratches, no dents, tolex and grille cloth as new.

The tubes are still the original Mesa set and in perfect condition.

Purchased 14 April 2025 from Thomann. The original invoice is included, which means the three-year Thomann warranty runs until April 2028.

Original box and the original padded cover are included.

On the price

New, this amp currently sells for €2,999 with a lead time of 11–14 weeks. If you would rather not wait until the end of the year, this one is essentially as-new and available immediately.

Optional: flight case

Matching Flyht Pro Guitar Combo Universal 2×12 flight case with casters, €200 extra. Retails at €299, bought December 2024.

Pickup

Local pickup only, in Hamburg-Barmbek, Germany. The amp weighs around 21 kg and I would rather not put it through freight shipping. You are welcome to try it out when you collect it.

Private sale, so no warranty or returns from my side.
