Rogers Tower Snare 1961 - 3ply - “resto-mod”

I have very nice Rogers Tower snare here with a mahogany veneer. I’m pretty certain this dates to around 1961 and is a 3ply shell based on where the vent hole Is located. Possibly a Jasper shell although I’m less confident about that.

So yes, the drum has been completely modified from its original state. All the bread and butter lugs have been replaced with the modern re-issues. The strainer is an Inde SB Mini and it has the Inde butt plate as well. The drum was sent to Precision Drum Company where it had the bearing edges re-done (45 round over) as well as the crazy deep snare beds were made less severe. They also drilled the two additional holes for the strainer. The drum has 20 strand Backbeat Canopus snare wires, medium weight steel triple flange hoops, Ambassador snare side head and G1 batter with a good amount of life left in them.

The condition of the shell is good. No separation of plies. The inside is gorgeous and the Cleveland tag is in good condition. The outside does have several scratches and scuffs, hopefully visible in the pics. Nothing very deep. The hoops are in great functional condition with cosmetic issues. The top hoop has a good amount of pitting And the snare side hoop has a little bit as well.

I’m including the receipt from Precision Drum company so folks down the line know the work was professionally done.
