Fender Japan Exclusive Classic ’60s Jazz Bass Fretless – Made in Japan
I am selling a Fender Japan Exclusive Classic ’60s Jazz Bass Fretless, model 5255800900, Made in Japan, produced in 2015, in 3-Color Sunburst finish.
It is a second-hand bass, purchased approximately 3 years ago from a private seller in Hamburg.
It is not a vintage instrument from the ’60s: the bass was produced in 2015 and is based on the Classic ’60s design.
Fender no longer produces this model, so it is no longer available new. Japanese Fender fretless basses are also quite rare on the second-hand market nowadays, making this a particularly interesting instrument for anyone looking for a Made in Japan Fender fretless.
The bass has a very nice sound and feels great under the fingers. It currently has La Bella Flatwound strings installed, which give it a warm, smooth, and very defined sound.
MODIFICATIONS
The original knobs have been replaced with higher-quality knobs.
The original ones felt rather cheap to me, so I replaced them with better components.
The modification is purely aesthetic and related to the feel of the controls, and does not alter the electronics or the sound of the instrument.
