There are a couple of features that set this example apart from other MIM Fender guitars.
Most MIM Fenders have black paint around the truss rod on the headstock which is a dead giveaway from across the room that it was made in Mexico. This guitar features the traditional '50's style neck with a wooden plug at the truss rod just like back in the day, making it appear to be USA made.
Second, this unit sports Seymour Duncan Vintage Strat pickups in the neck and middle with a Seymour Duncan SSL-5 Custom in the bridge, slightly overwound for just a bit more output.
This is a 24 year used guitar. There are signs of wear. If you are looking for brand new condition you should move on. If you want a fun to play, great sounding Strat with character this just might be the one.
There isn't a back plate for the bridge cavity but I can throw one in (it's mint green but nobody sees it anyway). No case. I will add a gig bag for an extra $50.
