Martin / 2023 CTM D-28

"A playful take on the D-28, from the Custom Shop"

The sides and back use Indian rosewood with broad grain and a pale coloring that gives it a distinctive character. Vintage-white binding with a checkerboard center strip adds extra flair.

The spruce top features the base-spec vintage-white binding along with multi-color purfling. The rosette is a defining decoration on this model — where a standard rosette uses multi-color celluloid, this one adds abalone shell inlay on top of that.

The fingerboard is ebony with subtle striping, fitted with mother-of-pearl dot position markers — the natural figuring itself is proof of genuine wood grain.

The comfortable, slim neck normally comes in Martin's default satin finish, but this example has a gloss finish — another feature unique to the CTM.

The down-belly bridge is fitted with a short saddle, and the ivory-colored bridge pins are inlaid with abalone shell dots.

The headstock, veneered in Indian rosewood, carries the Golden Era-style logo and a gloss finish.

The tuners are Grover open-back units, with butterbean buttons adding an authentic touch.

*As this is a used/vintage instrument, condition notes reflect what our inspection could determine. Please understand in advance.
- Playing marks and light scuffs are present, but there are no cracks, so it can be played with confidence.
- New nut installed.

[Playing Condition]
- String height at the 12th fret: 2.5mm (low E side), 2.0mm (high E side)
- Saddle projection: approx. 2.0-3.5mm
- No buzzing or choked notes; plays well.
