Rare 1981 Gibson Heritage Series Standard 80s Elite.
Gibson's first convincing attempt to reproduce the famous Burst period Standards, featuring the long awaited return of the one piece neck among other features.
This example has been played and has a few dings (please study photos), but is an excellent player and has great frets and perfect neck relief, and has been setup with a nice low action (1.7mm low E at 12th fret, 1.4mm high E at 12th fret.)
The neck pickup is the stock, much sought after Tim Shaw humbucker (measuring 7.65 kOhms.) The bridge pickup and ring have been updated at some point to what appears to be an equally popular Gibson T-Top humbucker (1965-75) based on the sticker, Bobbins and flat headed plate screws (see pictures), and measuring at 7.91kOhm, and a Dimarzio ring.
Fretboard is Ebony, and the body has an exceptional quilted maple top, finished in the rarer Cherry Sunburst.
Original Hard Case included.
You ate encouraged to try before you buy and collection in person is preferred due to the value and risk of damage if posted.
Thanks for looking.
