A remarkably complete, late-1960s Vox Galaxie Amplifier. Up for sale is an incredibly rare, highly preserved piece of music history: a Vox Galaxie amplifier produced in the late 1960s by the Thomas Organ Company as part of their innovative "Ampliphonic" series.

This unique trapezoidal unit was originally designed to double as an amplified, illuminated music stand. While the very few of these amps that pop up on the market are almost universally stripped bare, this listing includes its ultra-rare, proprietary accessories: the factory multi-button foot switch, the original mounting wing-nuts, and the music-desk lamp. For a high-end vintage Vox collector, finding a fully functional unit with the original working lamp and footswitch is an absolute holy grail.

Condition & Service Report:

• Cosmetics: Overall, the amplifier presents as exceptionally clean, sharp, and well-preserved. The iconic diamond lattice grille cloth is entirely intact, taut, and clean. The Tolex is in gorgeous condition with no major tears or lifting. To be completely precise, the faceplate control panel shows a few minor dents and scratches consistent with its 60-year history (please see in the photos). However, all text remains entirely legible and the faceplate still looks fantastic.
• Functionality: 100% fully operational. The onboard spring reverb is incredibly deep and splashy, and the vibrato/tremolo circuit delivers a distinctively lush vintage tone. The built-in 440Hz tuning reference tone functions perfectly.
• Electronics & Hardware: All original knobs and internal components are intact. the power cable has been professionally updated to a safe, modern grounded 3-prong plug. This eliminates standard vintage ground-hum and safety shock hazards, making it immediately studio-ready.
