A wonderful piece of Ludwig and rock drumming history from the Mark Schulman Collection!

This is a vintage 1984 6.5x14" Ludwig 75th Anniversary Supraphonic, produced for the company's 75th Anniversary celebration. These snares were available only as part of Ludwig's 75th Anniversary "Eagle" drum set and never released as an individual drum. The only way to acquire one of these was to purchase the whole set. These drums were the very first Ludwigs to feature the new "large keystone" badge. The drum is based around Ludwig's classic LM402 configuration, with a seamless chrome-plated aluminum shell, 10 Imperial lugs, triple-flanged hoops, internal tone control and Ludwig P-85 throw-off. It's identified with a special oval “Ludwig 75th Anniversary” commemorative plate. Most interestingly, the plate identifies this particular drum as having been manufactured in 1983 in Chicago, USA. The interior retains its blue LudaLoy Anti-Galvanic Finish sticker.

The original Ludwig Rockers Heavy Coated batter head is boldly signed “Wm. F. Ludwig II”, son of Ludwig co-founder William F. Ludwig and the longtime head of the Ludwig Drum Company.
