Morales ZES-300 MIJ-1960s
Good condition Morales ZES-300 made in Japan in the late 60s. Built by Zen-On (a Japanese musical instrument distributor and manufacturer) under their house brand Morales.
The guitar has a few minor scratches and a couple of small dings on the body and a mystery screw hole on the back of the body, no idea why someone would put one there. (Please check out the pictures for an idea of the condition and if you would like any more feel free to contact me anytime). The back of the neck is reasonably clean and tidy with no major dings or scratches. I had to replace the bridge screws (2 snapped) and 3 of the pickup surround screws as the originals were rusted out and snapped during removal. I removed the snapped ends and plugged up the holes with mahogany plugs. I replaced the ground wires with some better wire as well. the switch and pots are original but I replaced the input jack for good measure. A previous owner also installed a 2nd strap button on the back of the neck near the heel. Other than that the guitar is all original and a solidly built quality instrument. Overall it's in pretty good condition and ready to make some music again and it should keep going for another 50 plus years.
The guitar is playing nicely, sounds great and was a joy to play. I've never had the chance to play one of these before and it was really fun.
I've done a basic set-up, action and intonation with new fender 10-46 strings, but recommend you do your own to suit your playing style and preferred string gauge.
