1989 Orville by Gibson ES-335 Dot Ebony 100% Original w/ Bill Lawrence Circuit Board Pickups, Japan Terada

Up for sale, a 1989 Orville by Gibson ES-335 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This Orville is an official Gibson-licensed guitar and a result of a partnership between Gibson USA and their Japanese distributor Yamano Gakki. An upscale model beyond the specs of the standard Orville line, the “Orville by Gibson” models were outfitted from the factory with Gibson USA pickups.

Weighing 7lbs 11oz, tonewoods include a maple body, mahogany neck, and a dark rosewood fretboard. The semi-hollow maple construction ensures this guitar has great natural resonance and treble chime, and these qualities are faithfully translated through the pair of Bill Lawrence-designed Super Humbuckers. Known colloquially as Gibson's "circuit board" pickups, these short-lived medium output humbuckers handle gain extremely well, delivering a detailed array of tones that can be bright and growly or thick and punchy with the flip of a switch. This ES-335 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
