For sale is a TEAC 80-8 1/2" 8-track reel-to-reel multitrack recorder, complete with a Fostex 5030 Balancing Line Amplifier and a 1/2" MRL alignment tape. This is the real deal for anyone interested in getting into classic analog multitrack recording. The 80-8 is a legendary machine from the era when affordable 1/2" 8-track recording first became a serious professional tool. It runs at 15 ips.

The machine has been well cared for, but I want to be completely straightforward: this is a vintage tape machine, and anyone buying one of these should expect that maintenance, calibration and/or servicing may be required. I am not representing it as freshly serviced. It's running nicely, used last month on a live to tape session, but someone who knows vintage multitrack machines will understand exactly what they're getting into.

Included: TEAC 80-8 1/2" 8-track reel-to-reel recorder Fostex 5030 Balancing Line Amplifier 1/2" MRL alignment tape. The MRL tape is particularly useful for the eventual setup/calibration of the machine and is a nice bonus for someone intending to bring this deck back to full alignment.
