For sale is a 1982 Greco EG59-45 from the early Mint Collection period, made in Japan.

This is a classic early-’80s Japanese Les Paul-style guitar, featuring a traditional set-neck construction, long neck tenon and a pair of original-period Greco Screamin’ 1982 humbuckers.

The long neck tenon is clearly visible in the neck pickup cavity, with the neck joint extending deep underneath the pickup. Together with the traditional mahogany/maple construction, this gives the guitar the type of solid, resonant feel associated with higher-quality vintage-style Les Paul builds.

Both pickups are marked “SCREAMIN’ 1982” on their baseplates. These pickups are characteristic of early Mint Collection Grecos and deliver a very classic Japanese vintage LP sound – open, dynamic and articulate, with plenty of midrange and a strong but not overly compressed output.

The neck pickup is warm and full, while the bridge position has a sharper attack and works especially well with overdrive and classic rock tones.
