1948 King 2B Liberty Trombone with Original Case
One of the finest Trombones made, a King. These King 2B Liberty's are used by the greats and legends alike. The serial number is stamped into many areas on this Trombone and they all match 293263. As far as I can determine it was made in 1948, the case matches that era as well. Overall good shape, the slide moves very smoothly and shows no damage to the internals. The finish on the instrument is worn, it appears some has been played off, some looks removed on purpose and there is also some metallic looking paint or perhaps that is original, I am unsure. There is no mouth piece, I have not played it but have tested the slide, spit valve moves freely. I am a guitarist , not brass player. It could maybe need a cleaning, not sure. Few small dings, photographed an area at the base of the handle, one small bb sized ding on bell. Overall for its age it's a nice trombone with some patina to it. This should make someone very happy and you'd be hard pressed to find a King like this for less. Original cleaning rod and case. The case shows some exterior wear but is in solid shape- All latches work and functional. The case has a very faint gold King logo on it, almost 79 years old.
