Vintage 1980 G&L L-1000 Bass – Natural – Serial B001127 – Early Leo Fender Era

Offered here is a very early USA-made G&L L-1000 bass in natural finish, serial number B001127.

The L-1000 was one of the foundational instruments produced by G&L during the early Leo Fender era, and this low B-series serial places this example among the early production instruments.

Features include the single G&L Magnetic Field Design humbucking pickup, three-control layout with toggle switch, substantial early G&L bridge, three-bolt neck construction, dark fingerboard with pearl dot markers, and Schaller tuning machines.

This is a genuine player's bass and shows considerable honest wear from decades of use, including scratches, dings, finish wear and age-related wear/oxidation to the hardware. Please examine the detailed photographs closely for exact cosmetic condition.

The original-style pickguard is missing, and the mounting holes remain visible on the face of the instrument. We have intentionally left the bass in its current vintage condition rather than attempting cosmetic restoration.

This Bass comes with a hardshell case, and will be shipped carefully with insurance.

It is in working condition. We tested it thoroughly. Many from this Era are parted out, this is not one. It's all original, it just needs a little more TLC and a pick guard.

We did clean it some, but intentionally didn't do any heavy cosmetic cleanup because we want to keep it as original as possible.
