This 2022 Fender American Vintage II '57 Stratocaster in 2-Color Sunburst is exactly what I like about the American Vintage II line—it has the old-school Fender look and feel without giving up the reliability of a modern guitar.

The maple fingerboard and 2-Color Sunburst combination is about as classic as a Strat gets, and this one presents really well. The neck is in excellent condition, the fretboard is excellent, the frets are excellent, and the current setup passed inspection with the intonation spot on.

The original electronics are intact and everything passed my complete electronics test with no issues. The pickups have that familiar clear, articulate Strat sound with plenty of bite when you want it, while still getting the rounder, glassier sounds these guitars are known for.

Playability is comfortable with medium action. Nothing felt out of place during inspection, and it has a nice broken-in feel without the fret wear or setup issues you sometimes find on a guitar that's been played for a few years.

What stood out to me:

• Classic 2-Color Sunburst finish

• Maple neck and fingerboard

• Original pickups and electronics

• Excellent fret condition

• Excellent fretboard condition

• Comfortable medium action

• Spot-on intonation

• Current setup passed inspection

• Complete electronics test passed

• Original Fender hardshell case

• Includes the pictured case candy

Condition is Very Good overall.

The neck is excellent and the body/back are very good. There are some scuffs and small areas of wear around the body edges and near the neck plate. Those areas have been carefully touched up with ebony stain to help seal and protect the exposed wood while also making the wear much less noticeable. It presents very well overall, especially at normal viewing distance.

There are no major issues that affected playability during inspection, and the guitar feels mechanically solid and ready to go.

The original Fender hardshell case is included, along with the pictured case candy.
