1998 Gibson SG Special – Ebony – Rosewood Fingerboard – Original Case

Condition: Very Good. See pics - This guitar shows normal play wear consistent with its age but has been well cared for. A few nicks and some pick scratches. For its age, its in great condition! It plays and sounds excellent. The original Gibson 490R/490T pickups have been verified, and the original Gibson hardshell case is included.

Here’s a great example of a late-'90s Gibson SG Special, finished in classic Ebony. Made in the USA in 1998, this SG delivers everything you want from the model: a lightweight mahogany body, fast-playing mahogany neck, dual Gibson humbuckers, and the unmistakable bite, growl, and sustain that have made the SG a rock staple for decades.

One particularly interesting feature of this example is its rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. While published specifications for some late-'90s SG Specials list ebony fingerboards, factory examples from this period are documented with both rosewood and ebony boards.

The original Gibson 490R neck and 490T bridge humbuckers have been verified. This classic pairing gives you a warm, full neck tone with plenty of clarity and a hotter, more aggressive bridge sound that works exceptionally well for everything from blues and classic rock to hard rock.

The traditional SG control layout includes two volume controls, two tone controls, and a three-way pickup selector. A large black "batwing" pickguard, chrome hardware, Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and Gibson Deluxe tuners complete the classic late-'90s SG Special look.

The original Gibson hardshell case is included.

Serial number 92028356 dates this guitar to 1998.
