Pigdog Electric Eye MKI Tone Bender

This is it, the best MKI I've ever owned. From the fit & finish, to the high standards of the build itself & of course, most importantly, the sound, this is an absolutely perfect MKI Tone Bender. Built this past year in a limited run by Steve Williams, one of the 4 builders chosen by Sola Sound to build some of their own MKIs. This is without a doubt the highest quality MKI (& probably pedal overall) that I've ever owned. It oozes quality, class & mojo. Even the enclosure itself is custom made, not an off the shelf product, & the finish is gorgeous & very tough. Like Steve says below, if he had a custom shop this would be it, made one at a time by hand with the highest attention to detail.

The sound is stunning. It has the widest range of any attack knob I've ever heard on a MKI. It goes from super trumpety & gated w/ no sustain whatsoever all the way to liquid, cutting Ronson-esque sustain. The transition throughout the knob is quite smooth, it doesn't all happen within the first quarter of the range like some. This makes it very easy to dial in the exact amount of gating/sustain you are looking for. It really sounds perfect.

I bought this new & it hasn't left my smoke-free home since. It is in pristine, as received new condition & includes all original packaging, swag & even the shipping box. I ship within 1-2 business days via USPS Priority.

"I will be mainly using new old stock components apart from the electrolytic capacitor (the blue capacitor near the middle of the circuit board) which is a brand new off the shelf part and some of the other capacitors which are very close in size, appearance and electronic measurements of the vintage units and are of very good quality indeed. The transistors will be new old stock 1960's devices, one OC75 and two Texas Instruments (2Gxxx) devices of my choosing. You will not be able to choose your own transistor types as I have to tune/bias the circuit, but as a whole the circuit will look similar to an original and, most importantly sound exactly like an original MK1 Tone Bender.

The steel enclosures are custom made (not ones that you can buy off the shelf from a certain company found on the internet who shall remain nameless), they are finished in black (bottom) and gold hammered finish (top) with black screen print.

I realise that they are expensive, but in essence you are getting a completely hand built, custom order which I will be building one at a time and not ‘leapfrogging’ from one build to another like the batch built pedals.  Each Electric Eye receiving its own attention to detail and will match the very best vintage examples that I have had through my hands. I suppose if I had a custom shop department, this would be it."
