Fender 70th Anniversary Esquire in White Blonde, made in the USA as part of Fender’s limited 2020 anniversary production celebrating 70 years since the introduction of the original Esquire.

Condition: Excellent. The guitar is essentially new and unplayed, with no signs of use. It has been carefully stored since purchase.

The Esquire was Fender’s first solid-body electric guitar, introduced in 1950, and the instrument that laid the foundation for what would soon become the Telecaster.

The 70th Anniversary edition stays very close to the character of the original while adding several carefully chosen modern refinements.

It features a lightweight roasted pine body finished in White Blonde gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, paired with a one-piece maple neck with Fender’s substantial ’50 Broadcaster “U” profile.

The vintage-style 7.25" fingerboard radius, 21 Vintage Tall frets, bone nut and vintage-style hardware give the guitar a distinctly old-school Fender feel.

At the heart of the guitar is a single Tim Shaw-designed Esquire bridge pickup, inspired by an original 1950 Esquire from the Songbirds Museum collection in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Despite the single-pickup configuration, the classic three-way Esquire circuit offers three distinctly different sounds:

• Bridge pickup with tone control bypassed
• Bridge pickup with standard tone control
• Bridge pickup with preset treble roll-off

The result is a very direct, resonant and responsive guitar with significantly more tonal range than its minimalist single-pickup layout might suggest.
