The Martin GPC-16E takes the Grand Performance platform and gives it a shallower 000-depth body, creating a comfortable acoustic-electric with plenty of room for both strumming and more detailed playing. The Venetian-style cutaway provides easy access up the neck, while the full 25.4" scale keeps the response familiar and substantial.
A gloss spruce top with vintage tint is paired with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides finished in satin. Scalloped X-bracing supports the top, while the combination of the Grand Performance outline and reduced body depth gives this model its distinct balance of projection and playing comfort.
The select hardwood neck uses Martin’s Modified Low Oval profile with High-Performance Taper, paired with an ebony fingerboard and a 1 3/4" nut width. A 2 5/32" bridge string spacing leaves comfortable room for fingerstyle work without making the neck feel oversized.
For amplified use, the GPC-16E comes equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element pickup system. It keeps the controls straightforward and makes the guitar ready for live performance, rehearsal, or recording without changing the clean acoustic presentation.
Traditional Martin appointments include Style 28 mother-of-pearl fingerboard inlays, antique white binding, nickel open-gear tuners with butterbean knobs, an ebony bridge, bone nut, TUSQ saddle, and faux tortoise pickguard. A Martin softshell case is included.
