The Suhr Pete Thorn Signature SS Standard in Black is a refined artist instrument built around the expressive character and practical versatility of Pete Thorn's celebrated design. Its chambered, two-piece Fijian Mahogany body is topped with two-piece Plain Maple and finished in Black over a Natural Brown body color, creating a sophisticated appearance beneath the gloss finish. Arm, hand, and tummy contours provide a comfortable playing experience, while the rear-routed electronics, chrome side jack, and satin black cavity covers maintain the instrument's clean, purposeful aesthetic.

The Mahogany neck features a satin finish and Pete Thorn's 60's Soft V profile, measuring .830 to .910, offering a substantial yet comfortable feel that encourages effortless movement across the instrument. An Indian Rosewood fingerboard carries a 10" to 14" radius with standard roll, 22 stainless steel jumbo frets, and Mother of Pearl face dots and side dots. The original Black gloss headstock features a Mother of Pearl Suhr logo, Pete Thorn Signature engraving, and Suhr locking tuning gears in Chrome, complemented by a 1.687" white Tusq nut.

The tonal foundation comes from a Thornbucker Zebra neck pickup and Thornbucker Plus Zebra bridge pickup, delivering a broad range of articulate, dynamic voices suited to everything from nuanced cleans to powerful overdrive. A 5-Way Blade selector and Volume and Tone controls keep the layout intuitive, while the Push-Pull control provides parallel switching for the bridge pickup, adding another dimension of clarity and versatility. The Suhr 2-Post bridge features solid saddles and a steel block in Chrome, completing a responsive and stable platform.

Weighing just 6 lbs 15 oz, this right-handed Pete Thorn Signature combines thoughtful ergonomics, distinctive tone, and understated visual elegance. Finished in Black with Chrome hardware and supplied with a Softshell Case, it is a highly refined instrument designed for players who value feel, versatility, and immediate musical response. With its chambered Fijian Mahogany body, Pete Thorn neck carve, stainless steel frets, Thornbucker pickups, and carefully selected appointments, this Signature model captures the spirit of a professional instrument built to perform night after night.
