The Audio-Technica AE2300 is a cardioid dynamic instrument microphone built around a proprietary double-dome diaphragm construction that delivers improved high-frequency and transient response compared to conventional dynamic designs. Its frequency response spans 60-20,000 Hz, making it well suited to close-miking drums, guitar cabinets, brass, and other high-SPL sources. A switchable low-pass filter (6,000 Hz, 6 dB/octave) is on hand to tame harsh high-frequency content when needed, while the cardioid polar pattern's minimal off-axis coloration keeps phase relationships clean in multi-microphone setups. The compact body - 95.6 mm long with a 28.0 mm maximum diameter - allows precise placement in tight spaces, and output is via an integral 3-pin XLRM connector at 250 ohms impedance.
