This is a Sweetwater-exclusive Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom featuring a highly figured AAA quilted maple top finished in Viper Blue Gloss. Beneath the quilted maple top is a hand-selected, ultra-lightweight mahogany body designed to provide the warmth, resonance, and sustain associated with a Les Paul while improving overall comfort.

The guitar has a mahogany neck with a comfortable Medium “C” profile. Its ebony fingerboard features traditional mother-of-pearl block inlays and the upscale appointments associated with a Les Paul Custom. A long-tenon neck joint enhances resonance and sustain.

Its Burstbucker humbuckers reproduce the warmth, clarity, and depth of late-1950s Gibson PAF pickups, while offering slightly greater output for driving a tube amplifier. The lower-output Burstbucker 2 is installed in the neck position, while the hotter Burstbucker 3 is used at the bridge, creating better volume and tonal balance between the two positions.

The traditional maple-and-mahogany construction provides substantial sustain, strong note definition, and clear articulation. The guitar is finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, which is thinner than many modern polyurethane finishes and is intended to develop the appearance and feel of a well-played vintage instrument over time.

Grover Keystone tuning machines and a traditional Tune-o-matic bridge provide reliable

tuning stability, precise intonation, and classic Les Paul performance.
