Martin 1976 D-45

Always dreamed of owning the king of acoustic guitars, but settling for other high-end models never quite satisfies that deep craving for the ultimate bell-like ring. No amount of modern technology can replicate the genuine vintage tone that only comes from decades of wood maturing naturally, and you end up caught in an endless search for the real thing.

Putting a definitive, realistic end to that search is this 1976 Martin D-45.

The D-45 has reigned as the absolute pinnacle of acoustic guitars since its debut in 1933. Since production resumed in 1968, examples from the 1970s have been increasingly re-appreciated as genuinely usable vintage instruments for today's stage, thanks to their characteristically powerful tone and solid build.

[The Rich Sustain of a Square Neck Rod]
Unlike modern adjustable rods, this uses a rigid square rod. The whole neck transfers string vibration fully into the body, and combined with the non-scalloped X-bracing, it produces a thick, powerful low end that shakes you to the core.

[The Superb Bell-Like Ring of Half a Century]
Carefully selected Sitka spruce and Indian rosewood have dried out to the fullest extent over roughly 50 years. The brilliant, shimmering overtones that are the D-45's greatest charm fill the room with overwhelming volume.

[A Look with the Dignity of Its Era]
Hand-applied abalone shell purfling by skilled craftsmen, hexagon fingerboard inlays that catch the eye, and a top that has aged beautifully into an amber hue over time. It carries a genuine aura that artificial aging can never replicate.

Mid-1970s D-45s, right at the peak of their tonal maturity, are constantly fought over by players worldwide. Examples that retain this much originality while delivering this level of resonance and playability are becoming rarer to find on the market every year, making this too good a chance to pass up.

Experience the sound of a king, matured over half a century, for yourself. Please feel free to contact us to arrange a test-play appointment or request additional photos.
