Gibson 2001 J-45 Rosewood

Love the rugged Gibson look and feel, but find the standard mahogany J-45's earthy, dry tone lacking in overtone richness and low-end depth?

You want the same easy-to-hold body and crisp strumming attack of a J-45, but with a more brilliant, expansive tone. For serious players chasing that best-of-both-worlds sound, the standard spec inevitably feels limiting.

Meeting that demand perfectly is this special J-45, built with rosewood back and sides.

[The Superb Range Rosewood Delivers]
Unlike the standard mahogany model, this guitar achieves a deep, resonant low end paired with a glassy, brilliant, sustained top end. The added sustain on top of the J-45's signature attack gives it all-around expressive range, from singing along with strumming to delicate fingerpicked arpeggios.

[The Refined Look of a Higher-End Model]
Rosewood's beautiful, deep coloring on the back and sides is paired with hardware like gold tuners. This gives it a step-up sense of quality and presence beyond the regular model, one that really catches the eye on stage.

[The Mature Voice of a Montana-Made Instrument]
Built at the highly regarded Bozeman factory in the early 2000s. About 25 years of aging have let the wood dry out just right, so you get a ready-to-perform tone with the newness worn off, playable from day one.

Rosewood-spec J-45s were produced in limited numbers, and well-preserved early-2000s examples that have matured nicely while keeping their practical playability are becoming rarer on the market every year. Offering a completely different, richer and more brilliant voice than the mahogany model, this is a guitar that will be genuinely, uniquely yours.

Experience this one-of-a-kind rosewood J-45 tone for yourself. Please contact us now to check current condition or arrange a test-play appointment.
