Vintage Buescher 400 Top Hat and Cane tenor sax. This one dates to 1949.

The 400 was Buescher's top of the line professional saxophone and is highly regarded for its powerful yet warm and resonant vintage Buescher sound. The Top Hat and Cane engraving is a distinctive element that is a signature feature of this era.

The horn has been relacquered at some point in its life, it is in good playing condition but has some blemishes on the logo (pictured on the bell) from its previous buffing. It has the Norton Springs (pictured on the backside mechanism) system. Though the key work and layout is not modern and takes a little getting used, it is a very cool system and works really well for side hold players.

This instrument comes with an aftermarket case. The price is set appropriately for the relacquered condition.
