B.C. Rich Warlock NJ Series Japan 1986 - Red sparkle

Up for sale is a rad mid-80s (presumably 1986) B.C. Rich Warlock NJ Series in a killer Red Sparkle finish. This guitar is a true piece of 80s heavy metal history, but it has definitely seen some action and needs a bit of love and attention to get back to its full potential.

Cosmetic Condition:

As clearly shown in the photos, this guitar is heavily played and cosmetically beat up. It features numerous dings, finish chips (especially around the sharp edges of the body and headstock), scratches, and heavy wear throughout. The original Red Sparkle finish still looks awesome from a distance, but it proudly wears all its battle scars. Please inspect all detailed photos carefully to assess the cosmetic condition.

Hardware & Playability:

 Bridge: Original Kahler Tremolo (Made in USA) – complete with trem arm.

 Neck & Frets: The neck is straight, setup/intonation is surprisingly good, and it’s overall a solid player structurally.

 Hardware: Original gold/black hardware with visible patina and wear.

Electronics:

Sold as a project in terms of electronics. I cannot verify if the pickups are original.

 Neck Pickup: Works fine and sounds good.

 Bridge Pickup: Output/volume is extremely low compared to the neck pickup. This will require troubleshooting—likely a faulty pot, wiring issue, or a dying pickup.

Summary:

This is an ideal restoration project for a luthier, tech, or vintage B.C. Rich enthusiast looking for a killer base. With a little electronic TLC (and either a finish touch-up or keeping the authentic relic vibe), this Warlock will be ready to shred again.
