Offered here is an exceptionally rare eight-channel rack of original TAB/Telefunken V376 microphone preamplifiers, complete with the original Telefunken power supply designed to operate all eight modules together.
What makes this particular system especially desirable is its unusually cohesive provenance: six of the eight modules form three consecutive-serial-number pairs. Finding even one original V376 is increasingly difficult; finding eight together—with three sequential pairs and their original multi-channel power supply—is an uncommon opportunity.
Introduced in the 1960s as the solid-state successor to the legendary V76, the V376 is a fully discrete, transformer-balanced broadcast microphone preamplifier offering up to 76 dB of gain. It is prized for its exceptionally low noise, substantial headroom and unmistakable vintage German character: detailed and open on top, rich through the midrange, and solid without becoming muddy in the low end.
The V376 works beautifully on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and ribbon microphones. It can sound exceptionally clean at conservative levels, while adding density, dimension and musical harmonic character when driven harder.
Highlights:
- Eight original TAB/Telefunken V376 microphone preamplifiers
- Original Telefunken power supply for all eight channels
- Six modules comprising three consecutive-serial-number pairs
- Fully discrete transistor circuitry
- Transformer-balanced inputs and outputs
- Up to 76 dB of gain
- Stepped gain controls with continuous fine adjustment
- Selectable low-frequency filtering
- Excellent vintage cosmetic condition
- Complete, extremely uncommon eight-channel system
The modules and power supply present beautifully and have clearly been well preserved. Please examine the photographs closely for serial numbers, cosmetic condition and everything included in the sale.
This is being offered as one complete eight-channel collection. I would strongly prefer to keep the rack, sequential pairs and original power supply together rather than separate a system that has survived intact for decades.
A serious centerpiece for a professional studio, vintage broadcast collection or world-class recording setup—and an opportunity unlikely to appear again soon.
The system will be packed with exceptional care. Because of its size, weight and value, please contact me before purchasing to discuss insured shipping or local pickup.
