For sale is a 20 1/8” trans stamp A. Zildjian cymbal, made between 1946 and 1953, when they were still completely handmade and hand-hammered. Vintage medium weight (2142 grams), which makes it 50 grams lighter than Joe Morello’s “Take Five” ride. This is one of the good ones and a very versatile cymbal. It’s thin at the edge — as was typical of Zildjian rides of this era — which makes it very crashable. Play it with a light stick, and it’s great for a 50s-style jazz quartet. Play it with a medium stick and it can drive a 60s-style pop combo.

Great condition, with no cracks, keyholes and only the slightest amount of edge-wear. It has the small center hole, so it works with a cymbal stand with a 6mm shaft, but not an 8mm shaft.
