This one’s going to hurt, this one is from my private collection and of such that I’d said I would never ever sell, but here was are. What you’re looking at is a 1974 Gibson Flying V that someone throughout its life has refinished in white.
Everything you have heard about mid 70’s Flying V’s are entirely true. This is the lightest and quickest playing neck i have ever felt and the sound you get it absolutely unreal. Here’s what i know about it, the bridge pickup has been changed to a 90s era duncan Custom Custom. The neck pickup is the original TTop which just is chrome covered. The electronics are original and the pots all date to 1975. The tuners have been changed to schallers, the pickguard and truss rod cover appear to be completely original. The frets as well appear to be original as well. Now to the finish…
The refinish job is somewhat amateur as there are lots of inconsistenties and parts where it appears that the finish has rubbed off. Luckily a black late shows there is no funny business under the paint. There is no trace of any breaks or repairs anywhere underneath. The Case appears to be a late 70’s early 80’s 4 latch that someone has ripped off the outer tolex and stained as well. This is a Rock N’ Roll machine and is quite honestly one of my favorite guitars ive ever owned.
Electronics have been checked and work as they should, truss rod turns with no issues, and the action is set nice and low with no buzzing whatsoever. Cosmetically in good condition as there are lots of dents and dings but nothing structurally wrong.
