Claxton EM-C Brazilian Guitar
From the bench of Master Luthier Ed Claxton, this EM is crafted from Brazilian rosewood and Master Adirondack Spruce. Ed is known for his creations using specific tonewood combinations, and this guitar is an absolutely stunning example of that skill. The sound is well defined, articulate, and loud, with a light build that vibrates against one’s chest just like those prewar Martins do. Ed’s design philosophy is one of simple, understated elegance. ?To further pull every ounce from the Adirondack top, this portion has a French polish finish.? Whether you know Ed’s amazing work or not, this is a chance to own a magnificent Brazilian instrument loaded with build expertise and options for far less than the base price of a new commission. The guitar is in nearly mint condition, with the exception of a non-structural, hairline finish crack along the grainline of the soundboard between the bridge and butt end. Although there is no evidence of the crack going through the top, there were previously to my ownership light cleats added underneath perhaps to help assure no further changes took place in the soundboard. The line is difficult to see except in just right light conditions. This guitar has also had a matched, top quality Holter pickguard professionally installed.
Thanks much for checking this beauty out. The video demo was done some years back by Dream Guitars, from where I purchased this sweet instrument. Please email me with any additional questions! Ken
