Just back from Manley service. Only one tube needed replacing, but I had them put in a whole new set of burned-in, Manley-selected tubes, so you have the 3 xtra older tubes for spares.
I believe I am only the second owner, home studio use only on my watch, and the previous owner same, so this unit is in really great condition. See photos.
It is the two channel (stereo) 6072 tube model with 50dB gain max. More euphonic and 3D sounding than non 6072 versions. If you are all about ribbon mics on acoustic instruments played quietly, you will need a booster before this preamp. My Gefell tube and SS condenser mics love this preamp and need no gain beyond what the Manley provides.
This version has a direct input for guitar/bass/etc. on each channel, and two outputs for each channel, one with a transformer in the path and one without (unbalanced), so you have two different sounds available at the outputs, and the ability to send the output of each channel two places at once.
NOTE this unit also has locking phantom power switches, which means you grab the toggle switch stem and pull it towards you before you turn the phantom power on or off by throwing the switch. You need to know this because if you try and flip that toggle without pulling on it first, it will resist and if you are being brutish with it you can break the toggle. If you want to see an example of this, go check out the single-channel Manley Labs VTL-built 1 1/2U that has been listed for a long time on Reverb, the fifth photo in the series on the listing shows a snapped off phantom power switch.
I have included a photo of the repair bill from Manley service department listing condition and what they did in addition to re-tubing the unit. Just a couple of repairs. Yep, I spent over $700 (including shipping back and forth with insurance) to get it serviced before listing it here and now.
I have the original official Manley shipping box, inner and outer, for shipping the unit to you. NOTE I am way out in the middle of nowhere Colorado so I use US Postal Service. I pack very carefully and ship fully insured, but it will be USPS because I am at least an hour of driving to the nearest FedEx or UPS shipping point.
